Computer Lab Safety

To ensure safety while using computers there are some important precautions that teachers and students need to observe.

Among them are:

a) No food or drinks in computer laboratories.
- to avoid liquid spillage that might endanger computer users (electrocution) and cause damages to the computers.
- to ensure the laboratories and working areas are clean.
b) Report any exposed wirings in the laboratories.
c) Report if there is smoke, electrical sparks or they smell something burnt.
d) Never touch the computers if their hands are wet
e) Never pry the computer casing or try to repair the computers.
f) Never detach or attach any cables. Inform the ETS or person in charge to do it for you.
g) Do not play or fool around in the computer laboratories.
h) Do not fiddle or play with any electrical power sources.
i) Use fire extinguishers (not water) to put fires of electrical appliances in the events of
emergencies
j) Shut down and power off the computers after using them.
